It is blind tenacity to stick to the physical, to make much of the physical thing, the material thing. We must make ourselves free from material contamination and try to understand the value of spiritual truth. To truly understand a spiritual lineage we must give up the material consideration.

The Vaiṣṇavas think as follows— tvad-bhṛtya-bhṛtya-paricāraka-bhṛtya-bhṛtya-bhṛtyasya bhṛtya iti māṁ smara loka-nātha —‘O Lord of the world, please remember me as the servant of the servant of the servant of the servant of Your servant.’ The Vaiṣṇava’s perspective is—through the line of servants of the guru, let me have many masters. Let them serve Kṛṣṇa and Guru, and let me remain eternally as their servant of the servant.

Divine vision, anointed with the salve of love, is essential to perceive the true nature of the dhāma. A pure heart, free from material contamination, is indispensable for the revelation of śrī-dhāma’s true form.

Where is Vṛndāvana? Narottama Ṭhākura Mahāśaya says, viṣaya chāḍiya kabe śuddha ha’be mana, kabe hama herabo śrī vṛndāvana (When will my mind be purified losing the taste for material enjoyment? When will I roam freely in the land of Vṛndāvana?) What is Vṛndāvana proper? It is a stage of consciousness. In reality, Vṛndāvana, Goloka, are all stages of consciousness.

From an address given on 7th November 1966 at Sri Caitanya Sarasvata Matha, Navadvipa, India, on the occasion of the author’s appearance day, in the presence of revered Vaisnavas, including Srila Bhaktivedanta Svami Maharaja accompanied by disciples from USA, Srila Bhakti Kamala Madhusudhana Maharaja and Sri Bhakti-varidhi Saurindranath Sarkara.

Morality stands upon only this conception — this is mine, this is yours. But all this is false. The deepest plane of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is moving and with it so many particles and so many jivas are dancing. And that dance is the absolute dance. Sarva dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja. So everything belongs to Kṛṣṇa and for His satisfaction anything and everything can be done. That is nirguṇa.

Progress means to leave the former position, and go forward. But only the one who is hopeful of a bright future, should leave the former position and advance. Those of doubtful mentality, suspicious mentality, it is better for them to stick to the former position, which is their already consolidated foundation, and to take a stand there.

One may say, “This cannot be relied upon.” Come with trust! He is the controller of everything. In other cases also He showed miracles to Brahma and others who opposed. He is the Master of miracles.

There are more than a thousand philosophies known as ‘dharma’ present in this world, but they are not of equal value.

We are devotees, or rather we want to be devotees, so our great need is for the grace of Nrsimhadeva,
