This appearance day of Mahaprabhu is a good day to remember that everything comes by His grace. We should sincerely pray for His grace.

Raghunatha Dasa realized that when Mahaprabhu gave him the Govardhana-sila He was telling him that his eternal place of residence was at Govardhana and that his service should be performed at Radha-kunda.

The following is a transcript of a class given by Srila Narasingha Maharaja on Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Deva Gosvami Maharaja’s appearance day in Vrndavana at Sri Sri Radha-Damodara Temple on 12th October 2009.

If one approaches the Sri Murti of Sri Sri Gaura-Gadadhara one can see the right hand of Sriman Mahaprabhu in the specific pose (mudra) of nija-bhajana-mudram upadisam – instructing the mellows of His own pure devotional service.

The meaning of the phrase, ‘Guru is one’ is derived from the Sanskrit statement akhanda-guru-tattva. This means the undivided (akhanda) principle of the guru-tattva. This undivided guru-tattva manifests in three aspects, namely caitya-guru, diksa-guru, and siksa-guru respectively.

In his illumination on the eighth verse of Sri Upadesamrta, Srila Sridhara Maharaja discusses faith in relation to what faith is and what it is not. This is the Vedic process of learning. When you learn about something you must also understand what it is not. Take gold for example – when you learn what are the qualities of gold, you must also learn what is not gold. Learning what is not gold is sometimes more important than learning what gold is, because you must also be able to identify imitation gold.

As many of you may already know, there is a very unsightly bypass bridge being built over the Yamuna River in Vrindavana in the area of Kesighat. This government undertaking is disturbing the beauty and sanctity of Kesighat. Furthermore it seems that the construction is actually illegal but the government officials concerned have taken up the project anyway.
