Srila Prabhupada’s Vyasa Puja was held at the puspa-samadhi with devotees from Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya and Pandavapur in attendance.
After morning bhajanas, Srila Guru Maharaja requested H.H. Giri Maharaja and H.H. Madhava Maharaja to speak about Srila Prabhupada. Madhava Maharaja spoke on Srila Prabhupada’s contribution to the world of Vaisnavism, the position of guru and how Goloka is a ‘land of gurus’.
Giri Maharaja spoke about the etymological meaning of the Sanskrit words ‘puja’ and ‘guru’ and how guru-puja is not simply a ritual of offering flowers, but rather the necessity of following the spiritual master’s teachings.
More bhajanas followed until Srila Guru Maharaja and Sripada Visnu Maharaja arrived for the arati. Guru Maharaja offered arati to Srila Prabhupada while devotees offered puspanjali to Prabhupada’s lotus feet.
