Devotees and congregation celebrated the holy day of Govardhana Puja on Thursday 3rd November. The main festivities began at 10:00 when devotees accompanied the govardhana-sila to the snana-mandapa with kirtana. Srila Narasingha Maharaja spoke for some time on the ontological position of Sri Govardhana and His importance in the Gaudiya Vaisnava sampradaya. He also briefly described the lila of Krsna lifting Govardhana Hill.
After class, all the devotees took part in bathing the govardhana-sila with milk and rose water. Giriraja was then taken to the altar of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava where He was decorated with garlands and offered a sumptuous feast which was then honored by devotees and guests.
