Vyasa Puja in Mexico

Huejutla, Mexico
Sep 21 2010 - Event

On 11th September the devotees in Huejutla, Mexico, took part in celebrating Sri Vyasa Puja in the company of their great acarya, Srila Bhakti Gaurava Narasingha Maharaja.

Being in Mexico and amongst a culturally rich environment, a cultural dance was performed for Srila Guru Maharaja. Afterwards our very own friend and devotee from Mexico, Marco, lead the singing of some Spanish songs while playing sweet melodies on his acoustic guitar. Janardana Prabhu's father even attended the event at 105 years of age!

Srila Guru Maharaja was very pleased with all of the cultural performances. The celebration continued with more offerings and gifts from devotees. The first gift to start things off was the surprise arrival of this years Vyasa Puja book that made it all the way from India in time for the celebration.

After many devotees offered gifts (big and small), Srila Guru Maharaja then gifted all of the devotees there with a wonderful surprise by playing a song he wrote in Spanish. The lyrics were, "Por favor, vengan mis amigos y cantin Hare Krsna, Hare Rama", which means, "Please come my friends and chant Hare Krsna, Hare Rama."

This, along with a feast of amazing Mexicano Krsna maha-prasadam, was indeed the perfect finale to a wonderful celebration. All the devotees there felt grateful to be blessed with Srila Narasingha Maharaja's presence on this joyous occasion.
