Dwaraka
Dwaraka is another important holy place in India. Along with Puri, Badarinatha and Ramesvaram, it is one of the four principle dhamas.

Its sanctity is derived from the fact that this was the capital of Lord Krsna after He left Mathura 5,000 years ago. He resided here with His family members such as Vasudeva, Devaki, Balarama, Subhadra and His 16,108 wives headed by Rukmini and Satyabhama.

Presently, archeological excavations are successfully uncovering evidence to show that Dwaraka was not just a myth but a reality.
