Jun 30 2013 - Event

Devotees at Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha celebrated the Chira-dahi Mahotsava of Srila Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami on 30th June 2013.

Sitting under the banyan tree in the middle of the asrama, devotees and guests performed kirtana of Mahaprabhu and Nityananda in front of a new painting by Dhira-lalita Mataji depicting the pastime of the Panihati festival.

H.H. Giri Maharaja then narrated the pastime from the Caitanya-caritamrta and dicussed the life of Dasa Gosvami and his importance as the prayojana-acarya of our sampradaya.

Devotees had brought items cooked at home and these were placed under the tree and offered to Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai.

Sripada Visnu Maharaja offered arati to Their Lordships and after jaya-dhvani, everyone sat down to honour a variety of prasadam, with five different types of flat-rice, gulab-jamuns, coconut rice, lemon juice, sweet pancakes etc.
