Tirobhava-mahotsava
of Srila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura
The 66th disappearance day festival of Jagad-guru
Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Thakura was celebrated
at the asrama on Saturday 13th December.
Early
in the morning, arati and puspanjali were offered
to Srila Sarasvati Thakura and Srila Narasingha Maharaja
led the devotees in singing 'Je anilo prema-dana'.
He then spoke of the pastimes and precepts of Srila
Sarasvati Thakura. During the lecture Srila Narasingha
Maharaja explained a number of subjects such as how
Srila Sarasvati Thakura appeared in answer to Thakura
Bhaktivinoda's prayers, how Srila Sarasvati Thakura
implemented the desires of Bhaktivinoda, how the birthplace
of Mahaprabhu was discovered by Bhaktivinoda and was
put under the care of Sarasvati Thakura, the concept
of the adbhuta-mandira predicted by Lord Nityananda,
and the faulty siddha-pranali of the Sahajiyas.
At midday, there was a large feast in honor of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada that included many preparations that were his personal favorites. In the evening, "Sri Sri Prabhupada Padma Stavakah" and "Srila Prabhupada Vandana" accompanied by Nama-sankirtana were sung by the devotees.

Research Library & Multimedia Studio
Also,
on this auspicious occasion, the foundation of the
new Bhaktivedanta Research Library and Devavision
Multimedia Studio began. The building will encompass
1,300 square feet and is scheduled for completion
by August 2004.
Yoga-Narasimha Tilaka
Lord Yoga-Narasimha also received golden tilaka on
this day, thus making Him the only Deity of Lord Narasimha
in South India to wear Gaudiya Vaisnava tilaka.

Installation
of Sri Sri Laksmi-Narasingha
The devotees of Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha celebrated
the installation of Sri Sri Laksmi-Narasingha on Wednesday,
November 19th.
After the morning pujas were over, devotees enthusiastically decorated the temple of Lord Narasinghadeva with flower garlands and prepared for the installation ceremony. At 7:30 am the Deity of Laksmi-Narasingha was brought out onto the temple veranda and placed in a snana-vedi (bathing tray).
After preliminary rituals, Srila Visnu Maharaja performed the abhiseka ceremony as Srila Narasingha Maharaja led the devotees in singing the prayers to Narasinghadeva. On completion of the abhiseka, the Deities were brought back into the temple for the prana-pratistha and were gorgeously dressed in red silk, jewelery and beautiful flower garlands.
Visnu Maharaja offered an arati to the new Deities after which everyone came to take caranamrta and darsana of the Lord. It should also be mentioned that the sringar (ornamentation) for Yoga-Narasingha that day was exceptionally wonderful.
In honor of Sri Sri Laksmi-Narasingha, a nice feast
was offered and honored by all the residents of the
asrama.
Srila
Prabhupada's Tirobhava Mahotsava
Srila Prabhupada's disappearance festival was celebrated
by devotees at the asrama on Wednesday October 29th.
Srila Prabhupada's puspa-samadhi was beautifully decorated
in the morning after mangala-arati with many colorful
garlands.
At 10:00am Srila Narasingha Maharaja gave class on the veranda of the samadhi and spoke at length about Srila Prabhupada's life, from his boyhood, to his meeting Srila Sarasvati Thakura, his taking sannyasa and his leaving to the west. He explained in detail how Srila Prabhupada was perfect in every way - just as he was a perfect guru, he was also a perfect disciple of his Guru Maharaja.
After the class Srila Visnu Maharaja offered arati to Srila Prabhupada as devotees sang 'Sri Guru Carana Padma' and offered puspanjali to Srila Prabhupada's shoes. The program ended in a feast at 1:00pm.
Later in the evening, after singing Damodarastakam, the devotees assembled in the kirtana hall to hear Srila Visnu Maharaja give class. Maharaja spoke about the qualities of a pure devotee and mentioned how during his crossing the Atlantic Ocean Srila Prabhupada had two heart attacks. These 'heart attacks' have been explained by Srila Narasingha Maharaja to be Lord Nityananda Prabhu entering Srila Prabhupada's body to empower him to preach Krsna Consciousness all over the world.
At 7:20pm , the time when Srila Prabhupada left this world on Nov. 14, 1977, Srila Narasingha Maharaja offered arati to Srila Prabhupada as Srila Prabhupada's arati song was sung. After, Madhava Maharaja led the devotees in singing "Srila Prabhupada Lila Smarana Mangala Stotram" and Srila Narasingha Maharaja concluded by elucidating some of the verses to the devotees.
The
Month of Karttika
The holy month of Karttika (Damodara Masa) is currently
being observed at Govindaji Gardens. Just as the month
of Magha is non-different from Sri Krsna, the month
of Karttika is non-different from Srimati Radharani.
During this month, devotees increase their sadhana
to please Radharani and accrue increased spiritual
benefit.
It is also common that the Gaudiya Vaisnavas offer lamps to the Deities and sing the Damodarastakam from the Padma Purana, glorifying the pastime of Yasoda-mayi binding Lord Damodara with ropes to a grinding mortar.
Govardana Puja and Annakuta Mahotsava

The appearance of Giriraja Govardhana was celebrated on Sunday 26th October at Govindaji Gardens and was attended by many devotees from Bangalore and Mysore. After decorating Govardhana Hill, the devotees assembled in the kirtana hall and heard Srila Narasingha Maharaja speak about the glories of Giriraja and the glories of Srimad Bhagavatam. Srila Narasingha Maharaja began the class by explaining why Krsna's Vraja-lila is only found in Bhagavatam and not in the Mahabharata, and he also explained the qualification to read Bhagavatam.
After the class the devotees took turns in bathing Govardhana-sila with milk and everyone participated in bringing bhoga to offer to the Lord. Parikrama and maha-arati was performed to the accompaniment of nama-sankirtana.
The devotees then honored Sri Govardhana prasadam.

avirbhava tithi was celebrated by the devotees of
Govindaji Gardens on Sunday 19th October.
In the morning puspanjali was offered to Srila Sridhara Maharaja and devotees sang bhajanas in his praise including ' Sri Guru Arati'. Srila Visnu Maharaja spoke on the unique contribution of Srila Sridhara Maharaja and the conceptions that he bestowed upon his followers.
After
the noon bhoga-arati all the devotees honored a feast
offered to Srila Sridhara Maharaja.
60th
Appearance Day of Srila Bhakti Bhavana Visnu Maharaja
On Wednesday 15th of October, the auspicious 60th
Appearance day of Srila Bhakti Bhavana Visnu Maharaja
was celebrated at Govindaji Gardens. In the morning
Maharaja gave class and spoke about the importance
of observing the month of Karttika and emphasized
that any service performed during that time is magnified
greatly, thus devotees should take advantage of the
month of Damodara.
After class all the devotees presented Maharaja with garlands and offered their respects to their beloved siksa-guru. Throughout the day devotees from Bangalore, Mysore and the USA called Maharaja personally or wrote offerings and sent them to him via e-mail.
A sumptuous feast was held in the afternoon in honor
of Srila Visnu Maharaja.

Sri Radhastami Mahotsava
The sacred appearance of Srimati Radharani was celebrated
on Thursday September 4th at Govindaji Gardens. Sri
Sri Radha-Madhava were lavishly decorated with flowers
and a wonderful feast was offered to Them.
In the morning Srila Bhakti Bhavana Visnu Maharaja gave a class and spoke from Srila Sridhara Maharaja's "Loving Search for the Lost Servant." Maharaja described how Srila Sridhara Maharaja had revealed many esoteric points from various scriptures such as "Vilapa-kusumanjali" and "Caitanya-candramrtam" that explained the super-excellence of radha-dasyam (intimate service to Srimati Radharani).
Later on in the day, Vraja-kisora Dasa (son of Jayadeva Gosvami Dasa) was given saffron cloth by Srila Narasingha Maharaja. Srila Narasingha Maharaja spoke briefly on the importance of brahmacarya and the cultivation of the qualities of austerity, simplicity and a proper service attitude. At midday all the asrama devotees honored the prasadam of Srimati Radharani.
